Woman held for online child trafficking

ALCALA, Pangasinan, Philippines — A woman was arrested in Barangay Poblacion East in this town over the weekend for alleged exploitation of minors online.

Maricel Laceda, 36, was apprehended in an entrapment while a 10-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were rescued, Maj. Zynon Paiking, town police chief, said.

Personnel of the police Women and Children Protection Center and Alcala police and representatives from the local social welfare and development office conducted the entrapment and rescue operations.

In Pampanga, two South Korean citizens and their Filipino cohorts were arrested for alleged cybersex crime in Angeles City yesterday.

The police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group identified the suspects as Chang Woon-lee, his Filipino wife Marian Lee, Nokhang Yeon, Rochelle Niña Ronquillo, Jhoana Mae de Jesus and Jolina Gercin.
