Filipino teachers needed in US

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino teachers are needed for high-paying jobs in public elementary and primary schools in the United States.

In the website jobstreet.com, the Hospitality Staff Philippines, Inc. listed the requirements for applicants:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education;

• A passer of the Professional Regulation Commission’s Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET);

• At least three years work experience as teacher’ and

• Age ranging from 25 to 50 years old.

No fees are to be collected from applicants, according HSPI, which holds office at Unit 311 and 411 South Syquia Apartments, 2021 M.H. Del Pilar Street, Malate, Manila.

In response, a Department of Education official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the departure of teachers in the core subjects of English, Math and Science for better paying jobs teaching in the US, Canada and other countries poses a problem to public and private schools.   –- Rainier Allan Ronda, Philippine Star
