Taytay, Rizal: Mayor Joric Gacula over the weekend announced that the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) had approved a P1-billion project that would serve as an information-technolgy park and a tourism hub.

Gacula said that the approved project would entail the Manila East Homes Inc. some P1 billion for the construction, development and operation of the very first “cyberpark” in the locality.

The Filipino-owned company has proposed to develop a 5,000-square meter property in San Juan village in this town into an Information Technology Park to be known as Manila East City Cyberpark.

“With pride, we are happy to announce that we would soon be hosting the very first cyberpark facility, not just in Taytay, but would also be the first and only one in Rizal,” Gacula said.

The Ortigas and Co. Ltd. is also investing P550 million for the conversion of an existing three-story building located at Frontera Verde Drive, Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City into an IT Center.

The company, an existing PEZA-registered IT park developer, is investing P200 million in the center, bringing its investments to a total of P550 million to date.
