The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (POFW) urged yesterday the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families, as well as the members of the POFW, to attend the Philippine Business and Entrepreneurs Expo (PBEX) 2009 which will be held today, July 29 to Aug. 2 at the SM Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

Organized by the Megatrade Hall in partnership with MCT Events Management, the five-day event will feature free business seminars where would-be entrepreneurs will learn from the experts. It will also highlight various products and services for entrepreneurs which are available in the market. The POFW – which is a partner organization in the PBEX 2009 – pioneered in organizing events aimed at ensuring the transformation of a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs.

The POFW (with Web site address – http://www.pamilyanqofw.com) believes that OFW families can easily be transformed into entrepreneurs since majority of them have free time and excess money which they can utilize as investment in small business enterprises. What is important, for the OFW families to become successful in business, is by giving them vital and useful information on investment and business opportunities which is the role being played by the POFW since 1994 in partnership with the government, private and non-government organization sectors,

The PBEX 2009 will feature the following topics: Day 1 (July 29) – Why Go Into Business; Day 2 (July 30) – Starting Your Business; Day 3 (July 31) – Sustaining Business Viability; Day 4 (Aug. 1) – Business for Various Interest Groups; and Day 5 (Aug. 2) – Doing Business with the OFWs. The OFW families who are interested to become entrepreneurs are invited to visit the POFW booth which will feature the best livelihood and business options for the modern-day heroes and their families.
