A 25-year old construction worker died

A 25-year old construction worker died instantly while nine others were injured Monday after the flooring of a building undergoing construction collapsed in Quezon City. Initial investigation showed that the incident happended at around 1:45pm at a two-storey commerical building undergoing construction along Mauban Street in Barangay San Jose.

Case investigator Police Office 3 Ernesto Corpuz Jr. said the workers were cementing a part of the second level of the building when the flooring suddendly collapsed. He identified the construction worker who died as Alvin Ramos. The victim sustained fatal body injuries because of the debris that fell on him and was declared dead on arrival at the Chinese General Hospital. Nine other workers sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the hospital. They are Roel Padelonio, Marlon Briones, Aldrin Lodor, Bryan Briones, Manolito Serrano, Arnel Ramos, Philip Marbilla, Beaver Bogtay and Christopher Nevado. –Ira Karen Apanay, Manila Times
