Over 200 government agencies and corporations have pledged to intensify implementation of their Moral Renewal Action Plans to boost public service and produce lasting results before President Gloria Arroyo’s term expires on June 30 next year, an official said yesterday.
Constancia de Guzman, head of the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission, said the government agencies made the pledge after their meeting in Malacañang on Aug. 20.
“The meeting discussed the current status of their moral renewal efforts since the May 14, 2009 deadline for the submission of their respective [action plans],” De Guzman said in a statement.
She said Mrs. Arroyo mandated the moral action plans in an administrative order she issued on Jan. 30.
The order requires all departments, attached agencies, bureaus, and regional offices to implement anti-graft and other measures to boost public service and increase public confidence in the government. –Manila Stadandard Today
