House Bill 6850 – “Security of Tenure Act of 2009”

An Act Strengthening Security of Tenure, Amending for that Purpose Certain Provisions of Presidential Decree No. 442, as Amended, Otherwise Known as the Labor Code of the Philippines

Nullifies the practice of hiring employees with 5-6 months employment contracts, and sets a minimum ratio of 90/10 as percent of regular to other workers in an establishment to void fixed period or term of employment in work activities usually necessary or desirable in the usual business or trade of the employer.
