Impressive role of PEZA in driving new employment

THE success that has been attributed to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) under dynamic chairperson Lilia de Lima can be put down to continuity. In a rare departure for a job that comes as a political appointment, de Lima has held on to the post over three administrations, starting with the tenure of President Fidel Ramos—a glowing testament to the go-getting and results-driven leadership she has shown at PEZA.

Creating job opportunities for Filipinos has been one of the main thrusts of de Lima’s mission at PEZA, and the latest accreditation granted to Anthem Solutions, a managed services provider engaged in facilitating the entry and expansion of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in the country, for its newest facility in Ortigas, Pasig City in partnership with one of the country’s leading real estate developers, Ortigas and Company, Limited Partnership (OCLP), has seen 3000 more much needed openings in the employment market.

Anthem Solutions is an affiliate of the leading systems integration and technology solutions provider, Diversified Technology Solutions International, which is the leading IT enabler in the Philippines providing business solutions to the global market.

Silver City in Frontera Verde, Pasig City, is a 22,000-sqm building initially used as an auto mall and events venue. It is the newest addition to Anthem’s roster of PEZA-certified facilities in Metro Manila and around the Philippines, which include One World Square in McKinley Hill and Fort Legend in Global City, Fort Bonifacio, and Amigo Mall in Iloilo. This is not the first time Anthem has partnered with OCLP, as Anthem setup facilities at the Ortigas Building in Ortigas Center and VMall at the Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City.

“As a corporate citizen, we look forward to helping boost the economy of the country by providing world-class facilities that will attract BPO companies to set-up offices in Philippines that will in turn provide more job opportunities to Filipinos,” said OCLP chief operating officer, Rex Drillon 2nd.

The new building is fully operational and leased to capacity, and is expected to house at least 3,000 agents for the BPO industry.

“Having the most respected real-estate developer and property managers as a partner leverages our business in introducing BPO companies in the country and also gives our clients BPO-appropriate facilities available in Manila. OCLP’s leadership, management and working teams work hard to understand and deliver the requirements of our BPO and call center clients in the spirit of true partnership,” said Anthem chief executive officer, Miguel Garcia.

He adds, “With the launch of this new PEZA accredited facility accommodating at least 1,600 seats, we are looking forward to helping provide at least another 3,000 jobs to Filipinos.”

Besides facilitating entry and expansion of BPO investments, Anthem also offers managed facilities and managed technology services to conveniently and cost-efficiently manage the non-core processes of its clients. Anthem also provides its clients the flexibility to quickly expand operations from both a facility and technology perspective.

The company provides managed IT services from network administration to desk side support, giving its clients more room to focus all resources in running their campaigns. –Random Jottings, Manila Times
