FORTY-FIVE local companies and overseas recruitment agencies are expected to join the first district-wide job fair in Cebu “Trabaho alang sa Quinto Distrito” on Sept. 26 at the Danao Civic Center, Danao City, Cebu.

The activity is in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Cebu Association of PESO (Public Employment Service Office) Managers and 11 local government units composed of Liloan, Compostela, Danao City, Carmen, Catmon, Sogod, Borbon, and Pilar, Poro, San Francisco and Tudela of Camotes Island.

Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI of the fifth district of Cebu said the job fair is part of his campaign to bring accredited recruitment agencies closer to the Cebuanos and to prevent them from getting duped by illegal recruiters.

Local companies participating in the job fair include SM Cebu Supermarket, Rustan’s Supercenter, Crown Regency Hotels and Resorts, Days Hotel Mactan Cebu, Cebu Mitsumi Inc., and overseas agencies like Grand Placement Recruitment Agency, Mothersway Manpower Recruitment Agency, Lexus, Inc., I.U.P.P. and YWA Recruitment Agency.

Government agencies will also be at the venue to process job requirements needed by applicants.

These agences are the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Bureau of Investigation, National Statistics Office, Social Security System and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration. –Cebu Daily News
