Published by rudy Date posted on October 22, 2009

Text scams come in different forms. Examples of these are the following:

“Congratulations u have won 300 thous pesos + starex van Ur sim number was a home partner last june 24, 2009 draw. Call this number 9053222878. Contact dir.

Paload mo muna ako at wala na time. Send mo agad, wait ko.”

“Nalubog cellfone ko sa baha. Eto muna no. ko. Padala naman ng load.”

If subscribers receive such text messages, they should do the following:

  1. They should not reply to the message.
  2. If a cellular phone number appears with the message received, they should inform the NTC or their cellular phone company immediately at the numbers listed below for appropriate action
  3. If messages come from eleven-digit mobile numbers, these are most likely scams. Save the messages and report these to the numbers below.
  4. The NTC and the cellular phone companies will then pursue the blocking of these numbers.
