MANILA, Philippines—Two truck drivers were abducted by a still unidentified group in Sulu province last Monday, the provincial police chief said on Wednesday.
Chief Superintendent Bienvenido Latag, regional police director of Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao police, identified the victims as Raja Harun, 37, and Jalal Alih, 35.
The two were abducted in the vicinity of the village of Bulabog, Maimbung town at around 2 p.m. by armed men led by a certain Abon Lnu and Junior Lnu.
Latag said the victims were workers of a construction firm owned by a certain Engr. Michael Abubakar. The two were abducted while hauling gravel for road construction at the said village.
Latag said that after taking the victims, the suspects then commandeered the victims’ trucks to Brgy. Lapa and burned them. –Abigail Kwok, INQUIRER.net
