DOLE searches for model firms, persons

CEBU, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is again searching for new batch of establishments and individuals for the seventh Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) award.

As one of the flagship programs of DOLE, GKK is a component of the Zero Accident Program thus, it aims to encourage companies and individuals to implement safety, health and environment programs and in the process achieve productivity and zero accident in the workplace.

The GKK award is a national award given every two years by the DOLE in recognition of outstanding achievements of establishments and individuals in terms of responding to the safety and health needs of workers, workplaces and community. Moreover, the best of the bests will be lauded with a presidential award, a labor secretary’s award and special recognition for their commendable achievements.

The search is open to private and public establishments, individuals with outstanding OH contributions or innovations and lastly, the micro and informal sectors with innovative OSH practices.

The candidates will be judged based on their safety control and emergency preparedness, industrial hygiene program, occupational health program, environmental protection and community relations, social accountability programs, capacity building on occupational safety and health, outcome (OSH indicators and green productivity). – THE FREEMAN

of Myanmar.  Reject Military!
