Utopian tales

Honorary Lithuanian consul Rafael Evangelista was jolted from his Subic base reverie and had to fire off an e-mail to announce that he was very much alive, thank you, contrary to an item here on Monday.

It was actually Ray Dizon, another co-founder of the Utopia law fraternity of Ateneo, who had gone to the great beyond, along with Vicente Diego Locsin, another unheralded co-founder.

“I founded Utopia, and invited my classmates, Bobby [Roberto] Romulo, King [Francisco Jr.] Rodrigo, and the late Ray Dizon and Diego Locsin to be co-founders of the organization,” Evangelista wrote. “Rogelio Fernandez and Eugene Tan, both friends of mine, were not co-founders.”

“ Let us, you and I, have a good laugh when you print my short letter in your next column, and finally get it right.” –Victor Agustin, Manila Standard Today
