Parties with pending labor cases can personally check the status of their cases by simply visiting the website of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at www.dole.gov.ph. Posting the status of all labor cases on its website was one of the Labor department’s “100-days reform deliverable” under the Aquino administration and was delivered by the agency on September 1.
Viewing the status of case reports pending with the Labor agency takes only three steps: (1) log on at www.dole.gov.ph; (2) view the Case Status Report page; and (3) type the case docket number of the particular labor case.
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz on Tuesday said that posting the status of labor cases on the agency’s website is part of their reforms to promote and ensure transparency in the country’s labor arbitration and adjudication systems.
“This is also an anti-graft and corruption measure in the sense that it implements a ‘no follow-up’ of cases policy. Workers, employers and other stakeholders who view the status of labor cases on the website of the DOLE need not go to the DOLE and its offices to follow up their cases. They will know by visiting our website. They can already call our attention why, for example, a particular case is pending, or for evaluation, etc.,” the Labor chief added.
Baldoz said that the department’s Legal Service, bureaus of Labor Relations and Working Conditions, National Labor Relations Commission and National Conciliation and Mediation Board and the Employees Compensation Commission have posted their case status reports on the agency’s website as of September 15.
“The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and the Professional Regulation Commission will follow suit this October,” she added.
The Labor chief said that the case status reports can be viewed not only on the Labor department website, but also on the websites of the aforementioned agencies.
Baldoz earlier issued a memorandum prescribing concerned department offices and agencies a prescribed format on the posting of case status reports on their websites, to ensure uniformity and the implementation of the “DOLE-wide” web posting of the status of labor cases. –JOMAR CANLAS REPORTER, Manila Times
