Opportunities for 25,000 nurses

Published by rudy Date posted on November 8, 2010

More than 25,000 Filipino student nurses now in the United Kingdom have benefited from a study and work program under the UK Borders and Immigration rules and many of these nurses have found opportunities which have allowed them to become permanent residents.

This was disclosed by members of the newly founded association of consultancies dealing strictly with student visas, the Philippine Association of International Counselors for Education (PAICE), in a media statement.

According to PAICE President Elmer Gaspay and Nick Vickers, vice president for international relations, those Filipina nurses who underwent further studies in colleges and universities were able to qualify for RN status by taking up the Overseas Nursing Program after studying two or more years while doing on-the-job training with care homes. –FLORO MERCENE, Manila Bulletin
