2 hurt in oxygen tank explosion

MANILA, Philippines —Two people, including a hospital official, were hurt when an oxygen tank inside an ambulance exploded in Rosario, Batangas Wednesday morning, police said.

A report from Batangas police showed that Dr. Luisito Briones, 50, chief of the MVM District Hospital, and Numeriano Brucal, a driver, were refilling the oxygen tank inside the ambulance parked at the Namunga District Hospital when the tank suddenly exploded.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. and the explosion led to the burning of the ambulance.

Responding firemen put out the blaze 10 minutes after but the doctor and the driver sustained first degree burns because of the incident. –Abigail Kwok, INQUIRER.net
