N. Mindanao sugar workers get wage hike

MANILA, Philippines –  The Northern Mindanao wage board has issued a supplemental wage order raising the minimum wage rates of sugar workers in the region by at least P4 to as high as P500, the Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said yesterday.

Baldoz said all workers in sugar plantation in Northern Mindanao shall receive the minimum wage rates set in the supplemental order, which would take effect within the month. –Mayen Jaymalin (The Philippine Star)
