According to Senior Supt. Aaron Aquino, Compostela Valley police chief, the incident occurred last Wednesday in Barangay Golden Valley, Mabini, Compostela Valley.

Investigation showed that the victims were working inside the Arbanes mine shaft past 3 p.m. when they accidentally bore a hole in the adjoining tunnel which was filled with water.
