A career and recruitment solutions provider, Monster Philippines, has launched its ‘Return2Home’ program encouraging Filipinos residing abroad to explore job opportunities in their homeland.

According to a press statement on Tuesday, Monster Philippines said the program reflects the Philippine government’s commitment to provide skilled employment opportunities for Filipinos.

Based on Monster Philippines internal research, “there has been a 47% increase in the traffic of people authorized to work in the Philippines between January and December 2010.”

“Leveraging its global footprint, Monster.com will target and connect with Filipino jobseekers from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, Gulf, and the rest of Southeast Asia, and connect them with the opportunities that exist for them in their own country,” the group said.

The initiative will also target employers who are looking at hiring Filipinos from across the globe.

The “Return2Home” initiative aims to help employers attract the right persons who have relevant global experience, knowledge, and are culturally attuned to the Philippine setting.

Sanjay Modi, Managing Director, (India, Middle East & South East Asia) of Monster.com, said, “As an aftermath of one of the worst global economic recessions, economic restructuring and downsizing was witnessed across the globe.”

“Against such a dynamic environment, the strength of emerging economies was repeatedly tested, which not only demonstrated economic resilience but also an upturn in its growth trajectory,” Modi said.

“However, with the government promoting the return of non-resident Filipinos, the country presents a huge opportunity for corporations, which are looking at hiring locals in and outside of Philippines,” he said. – VVP, GMA News
