TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite, July 21 (PIA) — The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) is currently holding its 2nd National Educators’ Congress on Human Rights Education (2NECHRE) at the Development Academy of the Philippines with the theme, “Human Rights Education: Changing Culture Towards Peace and Good Governance” which started July 20 and ends July 23.

In a memorandum, CHR Chairperson Loretta Ann P. Rosales ordered all the senior regional information officers of CHR to participate in the 2nd NECHRE and serve as facilitators during the breakaway group discussions.

The congress aims to assess among others, the status of implementation of the 1st Congress’s commitments and obligations on human rights education (HRE) in respective institutions, to map up consensually the remaining issues/gaps on HRE that each institution has to address within one or more years, share experiences/practices among the participants and identify indicators or parameters of good and innovative practices in the field of HRE.
