Government website lists 50,000 jobs

MANILA, Philippines — Jobseekers, particularly those who feel they might be affected by Saudi Arabia’s ban on household workers from the Philippines, could check out the job vacancies posted in the Phil-JobNet.

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said jobseekers could scan the list of semi-skilled, low-skilled, and unskilled occupations that local employers have posted in the Phil-JobNet written below.

Unskilled workers – laborer, domestic helpers, messenger, construction laborer, janitor/janitress, kitchen crew, housemaid, maintenance crew, domestic cleaner;

Low-skilled workers– field interviewer, food server/attendants, salesman/saleslady, security guards, waiter/ waitress, merchandiser, sales clerk , service crew, cook (general), housekeeping attendant, baby sitter; and

Semi-skilled–accounting staff, accounting clerk, administrative assistants, call center agents, data encoder, cashier, customer service assistant, storekeeper, receptionist, office clerk.

Baldoz said more than 50,000 jobs listed in the official job portal.

Based on the report of the Bureau of Local Employment Director Ma. Criselda Sy, job opportunities for low- to semi-skilled workers abound, with the top 20 jobs to date including opportunities for call center agents (10,712) customer service assistants (3,541), salesman (2,452), production worker/ factory worker (1,360) cashier (1,276) and carpenter (963), data encoder (823), mason (684) sales clerk (591), laborer (565), housekeeping supervisor (502), heavy equipment operator (499), baby sitter (482), building electrician (475), domestic helper (453), bulldozer operator (430), production machine operator and electrician (403) and janitor (374).

The BLE report also show that the top skills for hire in the Phil-JobNet are for production worker/factory worker (4,882), production machine operator (4,660), service crew (3,634) cashier (3,338), sales clerk (2356) data encoder (1,604), saleslady (1,414), office clerk (1,208), staff nurse (1,139), call center agent (1,119), pipe fitter (927), bagger (801), welder (720), merchandiser (614), customer service assistant (530), computer technician (520), machine tool machine operator (497), production helper (481), secretary (478) and waiter (475). –LESLIE ANN G.
