Youth factor in anti-RH drive notable

CATHOLIC Church leaders said that the youth have been very supportive of its campaign against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) bill.

“The support of the youth is overwhelming, more than expected,” outgoing Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Secretary General Msgr. Juanito Figura said on Thursday.

Some 4,000 students from various colleges and universities—most of which are Catholic schools
—joined an anti-RH bill forum, which was dubbed the “Kalakbay Patungo sa Kapunuan ng Buhay at Pamilya” that was held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila on Tuesday.

The student delegates came from schools such as UST, St. Paul’s Manila and Quezon City, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University-Manila, Lourdes School Quezon City, Letran College, St. Jude Academy, Cainta Catholic School, La Consolacion College Pasig and Valenzuela, San Beda College, St. Mary’s College of Quezon City, Philippine Normal University, Assumption College Makati, Technological University of the Philippines and Santa Catalina College-Legarda.
