Syndicate abducts children, plies them out as beggars

TAYTAY, Rizal: Police have issued a warning to the public against a syndicate whom they said are abducting children in preparation for Christmas to be used as beggars, after they recovered two minors earlier reported missing.

Police said they recovered siblings 10-year-old “Boyet” and 4-year-old “Mila” inside the Palmera Homes in Taytay, Rizal.

The two were reported missing last October 14.

Mila was even wearing the same shirt when she was reported as missing.

The two were handed over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Cainta, Rizal.

The parents were relieved to find the children safe.

“Talagang naghahanap kami nuong nawala ang mga ito eh. Buhay o patay makapiling lang namin ang aming mga anak,” the father said.

During the investigation, the two minors said that they were abducted last October 9 outside their house in Barangay San Juan, Cainta, Rizal.

“Kinuha umano ng isang green van,” Sr./Supt. Emmanuel Prieto, Rizal PNP Provincial Director said.

The two said they were brought to a house where they were asked to household cleaning. They also revealed that they were not the only children inside the house.

“Sampu daw sila duon na nakita ng mga bata— nagtangka silang tumakas pero nabuko sila at pinagpapalo daw sila ng mga taon duon. Baka sindikato ito ng mga kumukuha ng mga bata at pinagpapalimos lalo’t malapit na ang Pasko. Tingin namin idedeploy na sila eh,” Eva Enahe, United Valley Golf Youth and Country Club NGO member said.

Police however are baffled as to why the parents only reported the children as missing last October 14th.

The parents explained that they first tried to find the children on their own and feared that they might be threatened if they immediately went to the police. –FRANCIS EARL A. CUETO CORRESPONDENT, Manila Times
