CATARMAN, Northern Samar, Nov. 3 (PIA) -– The recently conducted hands-on training on Child Labor Knowledge Sharing System CLKSS sponsored by International Labor Organization (ILO) through the International Program on the Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC) at Mharina Rossi Internet Café in Catarman was a success.
The training, which was attended by 30 program implementers, was aimed to improve collaboration and data sharing among partners and advocates of child labor program in the province of Northern Samar.
ILO-IPEC Project Manager of Northern Samar Giovanni Soledad said CLKSS is a tool that could be used in monitoring the progress of the Philippine Program Against Child Labour with an inventory of services being implemented in the Philippines by various providers.
He also said the system is also designed to contain resources such as national and local policies, studies, good practices, news and events, provide real-time reporting of child labour cases, integrated service delivery, including the referral system; and use of discussion board for topics of interest to the stakeholders.
Northern Samar is a recipient of ILO-IPEC direct beneficiary monitoring and reporting services, a recipient-specific tracking system that entails periodic monitoring visits and reporting on child labor activities in the area. (Teresita B. Cardenas/PIA 8/Northern Samar)
