Learn English the Smart way

Published by rudy Date posted on March 30, 2012

Mobile subscribers can now access English lessons anytime, anywhere via their cellphone, for only P15 a week. This is made possible via a new e-learning value-added service (VAS) from wireless leader Smart Communications Inc. (Smart), called Kandoo4AII. Developed by La-Mark Vision Ltd., the mobile language learning choice of over 10,000,000 users worldwide, Kandoo4All is an innovative way to practice English daily, through SMS.

It allows users to learn English vocabulary, phrasing, and grammar through brief and to-the-point lessons. The daily practice offers users the opportunity to improve quickly and constantly, while discovering weekly topics, which provide for a uniquely entertaining learning experience. The first three days are free and are offered only once per phone number. Afterwards, weekly subscription costs P15. Specifically developed for the Filipino audience using relevant and interesting content, Kando4AII is available for both prepaid and postpaid Smart subscribers.

“With this new service, we hope to encourage the use of mobile phones not just as a communication tool but also as a learning tool, regardless of its features. Since Smart’s Kandoo4AII is SMS-based, all Filipino mobile users have the opportunity to benefit from the service and be adept in using English,” said Jerome Almirante, head of Smart’s Value-added Services team. To make the service more effective, messages will be sent in English or Filipino, while a majority of lessons sent will be a blend of the two. With Smart’s Kandoo4AII, users receive structured content, a variety of lessons and instant response: on Mondays and Wednesdays, users receive English lessons related to the week’s theme, while on Tuesdays and Thursdays, users get interactive exercises related to the previous day’s lessons. When users want to progress faster, all they have to do is text “ENG MORE” to 3424 and they’ll immediately receive additional content.

To subscribe to the service. Smart subscribers simply need to text ‘ENG ON’ to 3424. Once subscribed, the user will start receiving text updates on the topic of the week. Kandoo4AII is a mobile English learning platform of La-Mark Vision Ltd., a worldwide leader in advanced linguistics and education solutions, which provides millions with a wide and varied portfolio of learning services.
