Electrician killed installing power line

MANILA, Philippines – A 35-year old electrician died yesterday afternoon after he accidentally touched a live wire while trying to install a power line in Quiapo, Manila.

Jonnie Abeda was installing an electric line at the ninth floor of the Corporate Building at the corner of Recto and Matapang streets at around 12:30 p.m. when the accident happened, according to Manila Police District homicide investigator Benito Cabatbat.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Metropolitan Hospital. –Rey Galupo The Philippine Star
