Worker crushed to death by roller

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines– A 22-year-old road worker was crushed to death by a roller while directing traffic at a road asphalting project in Barangay Uno, Jones, Isabela last Friday.

Investigation showed that the roller operator, Armand Romualdo, did not notice that Elmer Halip, a resident of Barangay Napaccu in Reina Mercedes town, was in the path of the roller during the asphalt overlay.

Police took Romualdo into custody after the incident. –Raymund Catindig (The Philippine Star)
