MANILA, Philippines – The Catholic lay group White Vote Movement endorsed yesterday six “Team Buhay” senatorial candidates as a show of force to deliver six million votes to those who voted against the passage of the Reproductive Health Law last year.

The movement, made up of Catholic lay groups under El Shaddai’s Mike Velarde, announced that it would endorsed two or four more candidates before the May 13 mid-term elections.

At the Amvel Compound in Parañaque City, Velarde said his group would support Senators Gregorio Honasan, Aquilino Pimentel III, Antonio Trillanes and Reps. Mitos Magsaysay, Cynthia Villar and Jose Victor Ejercito.

All of the six candidates were present at the El Shaddai gathering yesterday.

In an interview, Velarde reiterated “their endorsement is not imposing.” –Evelyn Macairan (The Philippine Star)
