MANILA – The Philippines has recently been one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia but it has yet to provide enough jobs for its citizens.

According to the World Bank’s Philippine Development Report, the country has to provide 14.6M jobs in the next 4 years to achieve a more inclusive growth for the country.

Karl Kendrick T. Chua, World Bank Philippines senior country economist said addressing this jobs challenge requires meeting a dual challenge: expanding formal sector employment even faster while rapidly raising the incomes of those informally employed.

“Government, business, and labor need to work together and agree on an agenda on job creation,” he said. –InterAksyon.com
