A helper at a warehouse in Valenzuela City was killed while he was on duty on Sunday.

The Valenzuela police identified the victim as Alberto Cruz, 33, a helper at the Urrulia Trading Warehouse in Sitio (settlement) Malabo, Barangay (village) Maysan.

The incident happened on Sunday morning, shortly after Cruz reported for work and while he was cleaning a machine called a crusher inside the warehouse. Coworkers found the victim dead an hour after he reported for work, his body under the machine.

Investigation showed he had a wound on the forehead, a contusion at the back of his head and bruises on his right knee. Security camera footage obtained by the police showed that Cruz was cleaning the crusher when he slipped into the tank and fell to the floor.—Nathaniel R. Melican, Philippine Daily Inquirer
