Miner buried alive as tunnel caves in

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – – A miner was killed yesterday when a tunnel collapsed in Taragona, Davao Oriental at the height of heavy rains brought about by a low-pressure area.

Reports said the fatality, Soviaco Lagunan, 23, together with fellow workers, was entering the tunnel in Barangay Bangol when it suddenly collapsed, burying him alive, while his companions were able to run for safety.
