GUESS | What were the most common crimes by minors in first half of year?

MANILA, Philippines — Theft, mugging, and rape were the most common crimes committed by minors in the first half of the year, data from the Philippine National Police showed.

Figures from the PNP’s Directorate for Investigative and Detective and Management recorded 7,764 offenses by minors, a slight dip from the 7,825 cases over the same period last year but far more than 2012’s 5,308.

Of this year’s youth crimes, theft accounted for 2,980 cases and robbery for 413.

Physical injuries followed with 1,313 while there were 389 rape cases listed for the period.

There were 109 drug cases, 98 acts of lasciviousness, 31 attempted murders, and 27 murders.

The Davao region accounted for the most cases, with 1,754, followed by Western Visayas with 1,387, Northern Mindanao with 1,054, Soccsksargen with 545, Western Mindanao with 456, Central Visayas with 455, and Metro Manila with 449.

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao had the least cases, with only 12.
