A 21-year-old construction worker died Tuesday afternoon when he accidentally fell from the balcony of a building still undergoing construction in Quezon City.

Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) headquarters identified the victim as Edgar Acaso, of San Isidro, Montalban, Rizal.

Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, QCPD-CIDU chief, said the incident happened at about 2:40 p.m. at the under-construction building of Victoria Tower D at No. 85 Mother Ignacia Avenue, Barangay Paligsahan, Quezon City.

It was learned that the victim and his co-worker Elesio Santelias were busy working on building’s balcony on the 9th floor when one of the beams suddenly collapsed. As a result, Acaso fell to 5th floor of the said building. (Francis T. Wakefield)
