BUKIDNON, Philippines – Four passengers were hurt in an explosion that ripped through a bus in Maramag town on Thursday.

Paquito Jivares, 61; Lyn Quadero, 21; Diolola Fostanes, 36; and Daniel Sincero, 45, were seated at the rear of the Rural Transit Bus where the improvised explosive device was planted.

Inspector Jiselle Lou Longakit of the Bukidnon police said the explosion occurred as the bus was traveling to Cagayan de Oro City from Tacurong City.

The blast damaged the engine and shattered the glass panes of the bus.

Longakit said the victims were brought to a hospital and declared out of danger by the doctors.

Responding bomb experts are still trying to determine the type of explosive used in the attack. –John Unson (The Philippine Star)
