MANILA (3rd UPDATE) – The fire at the One World Place building in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig has been declared out past 1 p.m. on Thursday.

The blaze started at the basement-3 of the One World Place building of DEISI Company on 32nd Street at around 9:40 a.m. The fire reached the third alarm before it was put out.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said eight construction workers have been rescued from the burning building and brought to the hospital.

But a radio DZMM report earlier said at least 10 construction workers have been rescued and treated for smoke inhalation.

A video by Alex Weber showed at least two people on top of the burning building earlier.

Reports have also said some people have tried to rappel down the side of the 30-storey One World Place building, which is still under construction.

The cause of the blaze has yet to be identified.

The BFP said 520 construction workers were on duty when the fire started this morning. Rescue operations continue. –ABS-CBNnews.com, with a report from Dexter Ganibe, DZMM
