At least 13,000 jobs are now up for grabs for those seeking employment this new year in the government’s online job search website, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.
Among the top 10 available job vacancies in PhilJobnet are merchandiser, service crew, promo staff, cashier, accounting staff, call center agent, civil engineer, delivery driver, accountant and office secretary.
As of January, DOLE said there were around 1.4 million jobs registered in PhilJobnet, but only around half or 70,000 applicants were found to have actively vied for the available slots.
Labor and Employment secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said they expect the number of employers and recruitment agencies, which post new job openings in the PhilJobnet, to increase further this year after the website underwent an upgrade in 2014.
Aside from the job facilitation, the website now also offers Labor Market Information (LMI), career guidance and occupational information, and employment coaching, catering. –Samuel Medenilla, Manila Bulletin
