Lineman electrocuted on Laguna bay barge

LAGUNA, Philippines – A lineman died while two others were injured after they were electrocuted as they were working on a power barge of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines in Bay town here Saturday.

Danilo Sapuay was declared dead on arrival at the Cabrini Hospital in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, said Chief Inspector Owen Banaag, Bay police chief.

Sapuay’s companions, Roger Sapuay and Enrico Casanova, were taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Banaag said the linemen were conducting maintenance work on the power barge when they accidentally touched a live wire at around 7 a.m. –Ed Amoroso (The Philippine Star)
