DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas torched construction equipment being used in a government road project in La Paz town, Agusan del Sur Friday.

A report from the Eastern Mindanao Command said some 50 rebels arrived in Barangay Langasina and burned a backhoe, a grader, a road roller, a mini dump truck and a water tanker owned by Madyaw Construction and Develoment Corp.

The rebels, reportedly led by a certain Ka Yumad, belong to the Guerrilla Front 88 of the NPA’s Northern Eastern Mindanao Regional Command, the report read.
