Helper buried alive in QC

A 42-year-old helper was killed while his co-worker was injured in an industrial accident in Quezon City Tuesday. Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit identified the fatality as Bernardo Maraya of South Daang Hari, Taguig City.

Investigation disclosed that the victim and colleague Aldrin Robino, 22, stay-in at Northern Chemical Inc., Reposo St, Sta. Mesa, Manila were unloading sacks of caustic soda at about 2:30 p.m. inside Greatnet Manufacturing Corp. on Fulgencio St., Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches when they suddenly fell on them. Maraya and Robino were taken to the Pacific Global Medical Center. However, Maraya died at around 4:30 p.m. (Francis T. Wakefield)
