Phl up in WEF’s 2015 tourism report

The Philippines went up eight notches in the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness 2015 report on the back of its improving price competitiveness and growing middle class. The Philippines placed 74th out of 141 countries, up from 82nd in 2011 in the WEF biannual report released in Switzerland yesterday. “The most significant growth in international arrivals is observed in Southeast Asia, thanks in part to the region’s price competitiveness and the rapid expansion of its middle class,” the report read.
