2 men die of electrocution

CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur – Two persons died of electrocution Wednesday in the towns of Bantay and Caoayan, both in Ilocos Sur.

Police said that construction worker Manuel Acenas Jr. was climbing a roof of the house he was repairing in Barangay Balaleng-Amianance, Bantay, Ilocos Sur, when he accidentally touched a live wire.

He was declared dead on arrival in a hospital. The second victim, Edwin Benzon, 27, a cook, was cleaning a restaurant in Poblacion, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, last Wednesday when he also touched a live wire on the floor. The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but died. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
