MANILA – A construction worker died while his five co-workers were injured after a wall of an old hotel toppled over them at F. Calderon Street corner Session Road in Baguio City, Saturday morning.

The victims were demolishing the Burnham Hotel when the safety barrier collapsed at around 11 a.m., pinning them under the wall.

Twenty-five-year-old Bryan Dagsilan died in the accident.

Fellow Alfonso Lao Construction workers Jomboy de Guzman, Jonnel Aquino, Jordan Francisco, William Flores and Robert Alivar were rushed to the hospital.

The foreman admitted they do not have safety gears.

The demolition of the whole building has been scheduled until the end of September. A new hotel with a supermarket will replace the Burnham Hotel. — With reports from Dennis Datu and Armenio Supang, radio dzMM
