Construction worker electrocuted

A 22-year-old construction worker died of electrocution at a construction site in Quezon City Tuesday afternoon, police said yesterday.

The Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) identified the victim as Joey Bello, a stay-in worker at Isetann Supermarket construction site on P. Tuazon St., Barangay San Roque, Quezon City.

Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, CIDU chief, said the accident happened at about 4:45 p.m. It was learned that Bello and witness Jhon Mark Orpila were helping each other to lift the scaffolding it accidentally fell on the extension wire which electrocuted them. Orpila managed to hold off the scaffolding.

Bellos was declared dead on arrival at Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
