Cement mixer truck kills 2

SAN ANTONIO, Quezon – Isang project engineer at isang construction worker ang namatay matapos na masagasaan ng isang transit cement mixer sa Barangay Callejon, this town.

Police identified the victims as Alejandre S. Nidoy, 58, project-in-charge engineer, of Cubao, Quezon City; and Jeffrey A. Murphy, 36, construction worker, of Barangay del Valle, San Antonio, here.

Police said Ruben R. Banayo, the driver of the Isuzu mixer truck (ZDS 557) loaded with ready mixed cement, was arrested after the freak accident that occurred at 1:30 p.m. in the downhill construction site of National Irrigation Authority (NIA). The suspect will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide and damage to property at the Office of Provincial Prosecutor in Lucena, City. (Danny J. Estacio)
