Elevator operator dies in accident at SM’s The Block

An elevator operator of SM City The Block in Quezon City died after falling from the mall’s fifth floor on Saturday morning.

The Quezon City Police District identified the victim as Rea Librando, 25, a resident of Southville, Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal.

A radio dzBB report said that the incident happened at around 7 a.m.

The report said Librando opened the elevator when she fell from the fifth floor.

It was not yet clear how the victim fell.

Police are investigating the incident.

The report said Quezon City Police District investigators have invited for questioning the security guards and maintenance personnel on duty when the accident happened. —ALG, GMA News
