12 Pinay workers sa HK nabiktima ng recruiter

Dumulog sa Hong Kong (HK) police ang 12 Filipino domestic workers matapos na umano’y matangayan ng malaking halaga ng salapi ng isang recruitment agency kapalit ng trabaho sa bansang Canada.

Sa ulat ng The Sun Hong Kong, nagsumite na ng reklamo sa Labour Department’s Employment Agency Administration at sa Wan Chai District Police Headquarters, ang walo sa mga biktima laban sa recruitment agency na Excellent Nannies na pag-aari ng isang Grace Ngan, isang Filipina, na kasal sa isang Chinese national.

Sinasabing nakuhanan ang mga ito ng HK$10,000 at HK$45,000 o katumbas ng P60,535 at P272,407 bawat isa kapalit ng trabaho sa Canada.

Base sa reklamo ng mga ito, pinangakuan ang mga ito ng trabaho bilang mga nannies o caregivers sa mga senior citizens sa Ottawa at Toronto at may sahod na aabot sa P13,912 hanggang P15,900 kada linggo.
