2 guro, sinuspinde ng PRC dahil sa utang

Bilang tugon sa pagbabagong ipatutupad ng paparating na administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, inumpisahan na ng Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ang pagsuspinde sa mga gurong hindi marunong magbayad ng utang, na karaniwang sinasamahan pa ng panloloko sa kanilang inutangan.

Labis ang pasasalamat ni Sheryll Abril, pangulo ng Tarlac Public School Teachers Association, Inc. (TPSTAI) na may satellite office sa Quezon City, sa PRC dahil sa pagtugon nito sa mga kaso na kanilang idinulog na umabot na sa 300 sa kabuuan, bukod pa sa 700 nakabimbin sa kanilang tanggapan.

Ayon kay Abril, nasira na ang magandang imahe ng mga guro dahil hindi nila nama-manage nang tama ang kanilang pera, na sinamahan pa ng pamemeke ng mga dokumento at automated teller machine (ATM) card para lang makautang at pagkatapos ay hindi na magbabayad.

Sinabi ni Abril na kamakailan ay sinuspinde ng PRC ang dalawang guro sa Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 4A DepEd Region 4A na sina Marie Jeanne Ayson, ng Tayuman Elementary School sa Binangonan, Rizal; at Ma. Susie Colcol, ng Teresa Elementary School sa Teresa, Rizal. Bukod sa hindi nagbayad ng utang, nabatid na peke pa ang isinumiteng ATM card ng mga ito bilang collateral sa TPSTAI.

Pinatawan ng PRC ng tatlong buwang suspensiyon sina Ayson at Colcol dahil sa paglabag sa Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers.

Sa apat na pahinang desisyon ng PRC, binabawi nito ang lisensiya o Certificate of Registration at Professional Identification Cards ng mga sinuspindeng guro at binalaang huwag nang uulit pa, kung ayaw nilang maharap sa mas mabigat na parusa. (Jun Fabon)
