MANILA, Philippines – A 20-year-old security guard was found dead in the elevator shaft of a 21-story building in Tondo, Manila Sunday afternoon.

The body of Roland Suson, a stay-in guard at the V Tower on Dagupan street, was found underneath the elevator on the ground floor at around 2 p.m.

Fellow guard Henry Gertos, 44, of the Corregidor Security Agency, told police he, Suson and another guard were on duty Sunday.

He said Suson was assigned to prepare the elevator for the arrival of several products, which would be stored in the warehouse on the top floor.

Gertos said he started looking for Suson when he failed to return to his post.

The guards said they realized something was wrong when they saw the victim’s left shoe, handheld radio, and other equipment scattered on the ground floor.
