Worker killed in freak construction site accident in Makati City

Published by rudy Date posted on June 12, 2016

A construction worker was crushed to his death Saturday evening in Makati City after a steel beam in a building under construction collapsed on him.

An initial investigation by the Makati City Police showed that the incident happened while workers were transferring a glass panel of a building from the first floor to the second floor, using a motorized lifter.

Citing initial police information, “Balitanghali” reported that worker Domingo Clorigo was waiting at the second floor balcony when the iron beam of the lifter holding the panels broke off and fell on him.

Clorigo’s remains were brought to the nearest funeral home for autopsy.

As of posting time, the contractor has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/LBG, GMA News
