82 minor nasagip sa sex trafficking

Aabot sa 82 menor-de-edad ang nasagip at 239 na child traffickers ang inarestro ng Ope­ration Cross Country ng Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sa anim na bansa kabilang ang Pilipinas.

Base sa inilabas na kalatas ng US Embassy sa Pilipinas, tiniyak ng U.S. FBI at mga kinatawan ng National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) at iba pang international law enforcement partners, na patuloy ang isasagawang pagtulong sa mga bansa kung saan marami ang kaso ng child sex trafficking.

Maliban sa Pilipinas kasama rin sa tinukoy ng FBI na maraming kaso ng child sex trafficking ang Cambodia at Thailand.

Sa Pilipinas, sa tulong ng impormasyon ng FBI at ng local law enforcement ay nasagip ang dalawang batang lalaki na may edad 5 at 11 at isang batang babae na may edad 2-anyos mula sa isang tahanan sa Taguig City na ginagawa website-based service.

Dito ay limang indibiduwal ang nadakip kabilang ang isang lola, ang ina ng dalawang bata at tiyahin ng mga ito.

Sinasabing ang Ope­ration Cross Country ay bahagi ng Innocence Lost Initiative ng FBI na nagsimula noong 2003 at nagresulta sa mahigit 6,000 ang natukoy at nakilala.
